The 2011 Turkish Grand Prix over the weekend was something of a showcase in motoring technology. This was as well as being a nail biting contest full of twists and turns. Fans were truly in for a delight.

There were many Formula 1 teams showing off exciting new components to their cars. Ferrari's for instance, revealed brand new front and rear wings, in an attempt to catch up with McLaren and Red Bull.

But it was all systems go for Sebastian Vettel at the Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday. The Formula One champion lorded over the completion come race time. Vettel, driving for RBR-Renault ended up six seconds in front by the last lap. This is thought to be due to his car being fitted with fresh renewed tyres on the last stops. They reportedly allowed him to motor ahead of his nearest rivals.

Vettel's team mate, the Australian driver Mark Webber finished in second place. He overtook Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso with five laps to go. The Spanish racing driver completed the race in third place. There was also a fight taking place for fourth place between team mates and fellow countrymen Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Hamilton pulled into the pits once again and although the fourth pit stop took an inordinately long time, he still finished in fourth place. His compatriot though was overtaken by Nico Rosberg, driving for Mercedes. The German driver finished in fifth place while Button was sixth.

However it was Rosberg’s fellow countryman Vettel which turned out to be the star of the show. He forged ahead to win his third race out of four this season. It makes him the one to beat on the leader board. But Ferrari are hot at Red Bulls heals. There is still a lot to play for.
