The event is known as one of the Triple Crown of Motorsport. It is seen as the epitome of excitement and glamour around the globe. The Monaco Grand Prix has been the pinnacle for many racing fans since its inception in 1929. Lovers of motor racing won’t be able to contain themselves at the Circuit de Monaco this Sunday. Practice rounds begin on Thursday the 26th May 2011 at 10am and go on to Saturday the 28th at 11am. The qualifying round takes place at 14.00 on Saturday. The race is due to start at 14:00 local time on Sunday. It lasts for an amazing 78 action packed laps. The track has a circuit length of 3.34 km and a total race distance of 260.5 km.
The current lap record is held by the legendary Michael Schumacher, who completed a circuit in 1:14.439 in 2004. Can he beat his own time on Sunday or will one of the younger drivers reach the chequered flag before him?
