Season Gets Back On Track in Belgium

The 2012 Grand Prix season has been taking a hiatus in the month of August. It is now time though to put the pedal back to the metal, as we reconvene this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix.

There has not been a race on the calendar since Lewis Hamilton won the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest at the end of July. It saw the Brit score a victory after suffering some speed bumps this season, on his way to catching the man at the top of the leader board, Fernando Alonso.

This is the state of affairs as the season revs up again with the 2012 Formula 1 Shell Belgian Grand Prix. The race is set to start on Sunday the second of September at 2pm. It will take place at the incredible Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, in the municipality of Spa. It is the perfect place to relax and watch a motor race.

The excitement is at fever pitch as the race approaches, and the only thing which could possibly rain on its parade is the notorious weather conditions. The Belgian Grand Prix is known for its downpours. But it will take a lot more than that to wipe the smile off the faces of the Grand Prix fans who have gathered to watch this event.

It is comprised of 44 laps of racing, over a distance of 308.052 kms. Will Lewis Hamilton make it two wins in a row this season? Will Sebastian Vettel win for his second year in succession, after triumphing here in 2011? Will Mark Webber finish first and claim the Number One spot in the standings? Or will current leader Alonso secure his position with yet another win?

It is off to the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa to find out.
