What a weekend it has been for Mark Webber. The Australian has just signed a new contract to keep driving for Red Bull next season after winning this year’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
There is a major sporting event taking place in the UK this weekend. Wimbledon may be on everybody’s lips, but motor racing fans are in for a smashing time as well. This is because the 2012 Formula 1 Santander British Grand Prix is being held at Silverstone, in Northamptonshire, on Sunday the 8th of July. The flag will be lowered at 1pm on the dot.
It feels great to win, but it must be even sweeter if its in front of your home crowd. That must be how Fernando Alonso felt when he was first to cross the finish line at this weekend’s European Grand Prix in Valencia.
The 2012 Grand Prix season is now on the next leg of its adventure, which will stop at Valencia in Spain. It is the site of the Grand Prix of Europe, also known as the European Grand Prix. This one of a kind event is set to go ahead at the stunning Valencia Street Circuit on Sunday the 24th of June at 2pm.
This Sunday saw an incredible win for Lewis Hamilton at the 2012 Canadian Grand Prix. It is a result which will linger long in the memory. This enthralling event was held at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal on the 10th of June. It was the scene of the McLaren driver’s third win at this circuit in the last five years. This was after he previously triumphed in 2007 and 2010.
