McLaren Ready For A Comeback at German Grand Prix?

The 2012 Grand Prix season is now a Perfect 10. This year’s calendar of races has just broken double digits. The sport is marking the occasion by setting off to the beautiful German countryside. This is the site of the race often referred to as the Formula 1 Grosser Preis Santander Von Deutschland AKA the 2012 German Grand Prix.

This fantastic event is geared up to go ahead in Hockenheim, on Sunday the 22nd of June. It is the race many predict will mark a rise in the fortunes of the McLaren team. It could see Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button making a comeback, after their disappointment at the British Grand Prix.

It was Mark Webber, with Red Bull Racing-Renault, who took first place at Silverstone two weeks ago. The first practice round of the German Grand Prix, however, has been a triumph for the two British drivers for McLaren. It has seen Jenson Button finish first, with his compatriot Lewis Hamilton coming second. This is somewhat ironic, as it was Hamilton who won this very race 12 months ago. There are now many people wondering if he can do the same thing again. It seems, moreover, that he may have something to prove. This is after recent reports that the title appeared to be slipping away from him.

There are still many drivers out there though looking to spoil the party. Webber will be hoping to make it two wins in a row after Silverstone. Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, the driver currently number one in the standings, will be fighting to hold onto his position at top spot. This is despite having Webber in second place and Sebastian Vettel in third. The two Red Bull drivers are nipping at his heals, still clambering to be champion. We also cannot discount Raikkonen with Lotus or Rosberg with Mercedes. This season of shocks may still have a few more in store.

We shall just have to wait and see what transpires, over those exciting sixty seven laps at the Hockenheim circuit.
