Its felt The Monaco Grand Prix, held last weekend, was somewhat marred by controversy. British racer Lewis Hamilton alleged he was the victim of racial prejudice. This was after receiving a penalty in the qualifying round on Saturday. He was then stopped two more times during the race on Sunday. It resulted from a run in between Pastor Maldonado and Felipe Massa. This led to Hamilton making comments criticising his fellow drivers. This is as well as suggesting he was being persecuted because of the colour of his skin.

“Out of six races, I’ve been to the stewards five times. It’s a joke” he said. “Maybe it’s because I’m black. That’s what Ali G says.”

Hamilton later claimed the remarks were only a joke and spoken out of frustration. He later added “emotions are high, and it’s very intense at the end of those kinds of races, you don’t always say the right thing.”

It remains to be seen if he faces punishment from the FIA: The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile. It is the motor racing governing body, similar to FIFA in football.

The race itself ended in triumphant victory once again for Sebastian Vettel. He won the world famous street circuit for the first time. This is his fifth win out of six for the RBR-Renault driver. However there was a time when Vettel thought he was going to lose this race to former winner Jenson Button.”I was 15 seconds behind Jenson” He said “and the victory seemed far away”.

Button had previously won at the Monaco Grand Prix two years ago. He looked all geared up to reclaim the title. However, his team McLaren took a gamble on making three pit stops. This put Vettel in the driving seat. Then, with 15 laps to go and Fernando Alonso in close pursuit, he pushed his tyres as far as they could go. But it took an unfortunate incident to provoke a restart.

The Russian driver Vitaly Petrov collided with a wall. It was feared he may have been knocked unconscious. Fortunately, Petrov is hopeful he may return for the next race in Montreal, Canada, on the 12th of June. However, although the crash resulted in a restart, it’s thought McLaren didn’t take advantage of the opportunity. They were unable to stop Vettel going on to victory. Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari finished second. The aforementioned Jenson Button, driving for McLaren-Mercedes was third. Vettel’s team mate Mark Webber was in fourth spot. The fifth place, meanwhile, was taken by the Japanese racer Kamui Kobayashi, driving for Sauber-Ferrari. Lewis Hamilton had to settle for finishing in sixth place.

There are some whom believe the season may be out of McLaren’s reach – already be a clean sweep for RBR-Renault. However, Hamilton and his fellow competitors still feel there is a lot to play for as they look forward to the next race, on to the captivating Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal. This is the site of the next race of the season. The Formula 1 Grand Prix Du Canada will be held on the 12th of June.

This is the big one. It’s easily the most illustrious race of the Grand Prix season. Let alone being one of the most famous sporting events in the world. Formula One is set to reach maximum speed on Sunday the 29th of May 2011 at 14:00. This is the date and time of the Formula 1 Grand Prix De Monaco 2011.

The event is known as one of the Triple Crown of Motorsport. It is seen as the epitome of excitement and glamour around the globe. The Monaco Grand Prix has been the pinnacle for many racing fans since its inception in 1929. Lovers of motor racing won’t be able to contain themselves at the Circuit de Monaco this Sunday. They will gather to see if Sebastian Vettel will win once more this season. Or will Hamilton to Button to Webber, finally unseat him? Fans will swarm to watch those racing cars screech along that fine course, across the stunning roadways of Monte Carlo. It is one of the most scenic and most precarious routes in the world. Who will master the streets of Monaco and cross the finish line first?

Practice rounds begin on Thursday the 26th May 2011 at 10am and go on to Saturday the 28th at 11am. The qualifying round takes place at 14.00 on Saturday. The race is due to start at 14:00 local time on Sunday. It lasts for an amazing 78 action packed laps. The track has a circuit length of 3.34 km and a total race distance of 260.5 km.

The current lap record is held by the legendary Michael Schumacher, who completed a circuit in 1:14.439 in 2004. Can he beat his own time on Sunday or will one of the younger drivers reach the chequered flag before him? Fans will watch with baited breath on Sunday to see who takes the crown supreme at The Monaco Grand Prix.

Sebastian Vettel’s incredible run of victories continued at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona this weekend. But it was far from an easy ride. The German driver, with Red Bull Racing, found himself in a titanic struggle with Lewis Hamilton. The Brit was determined to claim victory at the race meeting on Sunday the 22nd of May 2011.

The Circuit de Catalunya in Montmeló, Spain was the setting for this exciting round of the 2011 Formula One Grand Prix Season. The race was 66 laps long, with champion Vetttel starting at second place on the grid. He ended up winning the battle with Hamilton, who drives for McLaren, coming second. His compatriot and team mate Jenson Button was in third place. Mark Webber meanwhile may have set off from pole position but he finished the race in fourth.  Fernando Alonso ironically finished the fifth race of the season, in his native Spain, in fifth. The veteran Michael Schumacher meanwhile completed the race in sixth.

This weekend’s contest resulted in Sebastian Vettel increasing his spot at top of the leader board by 41 points ahead of second-placed Lewis Hamilton. Webber, despite his comparatively poor showing in Spain, keeps third spot in the Driver’s Championship. The World Constructor Championship currently has the Red Bull team at number one with McLaren in second place. Ferrari, represented solely at the finishing track by Alonso, are in third position.

Now, it is on to the next race of the season. When Formula One arrives at the place it is probably most famous for- Monaco.

So the 2011 Grand Prix hits the plains of sunny Spain this weekend.  This is where the fifth round of the season is due to be held. It is the 2011 Formula 1 Gran Premio de España Santander, previously known as The 2011 Spanish Grand Prix. The world famous race meet will take place at Circuit de Catalunya in Montmeló on the 22nd of May.

As it stands coming into this next race, the German driver Sebastian Vettel, with Red Bull Racing, has had a remarkable season. The reigning world champion is standing at the top of the Drivers’ Championship with an amazing 93 points.
British racing star Lewis Hamilton, with the McLaren Team, takes second place on the leader board with 58 points. This upcoming meet must hold special memories for the young driver. He took a fast lap over this tack; recording 1:24.357.

Mark Webber, on 55 points, is in bronze position. The Australian Formula One ace drives for Red Bull Racing, along with his team mate Sebastian Vettel. The man who seems always in the spotlight; Britain’s Jenson Button is in fourth place. The McLaren-Mercedes driver currently has 46 points. Fifth on the leader board is Fernando Alonso. The Ferrari driver, from Spain, has amassed a respectable 41 points. The local hero is all set to make an exciting home coming at the the Spanish Grand Prix.

The temperature is set to rise this Sunday, when drivers rev up at the 2011 Formula 1 Gran Premio de España Santander.

The 2011 Turkish Grand Prix over the weekend was something of a showcase in motoring technology. This was as well as being a nail biting contest full of twists and turns. Fans were truly in for a delight.

There were many Formula 1 teams showing off exciting new components to their cars. Ferrari’s for instance, revealed brand new front and rear wings, in an attempt to catch up with McLaren and Red Bull.

But it was all systems go for Sebastian Vettel at the Turkish Grand Prix on Sunday. The Formula One champion lorded over the completion come race time. Vettel, driving for RBR-Renault ended up six seconds in front by the last lap. This is thought to be due to his car being fitted with fresh renewed tyres on the last stops. They reportedly allowed him to motor ahead of his nearest rivals.

Vettel’s team mate, the Australian driver Mark Webber finished in second place. He overtook Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso with five laps to go. The Spanish racing driver completed the race in third place. There was also a fight taking place for fourth place between team mates and fellow countrymen Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Hamilton pulled into the pits once again and although the fourth pit stop took an inordinately long time, he still finished in fourth place. His compatriot though was overtaken by Nico Rosberg, driving for Mercedes. The German driver finished in fifth place while Button was sixth.

However it was Rosberg’s fellow countryman Vettel which turned out to be the star of the show. He forged ahead to win his third race out of four this season. It makes him the one to beat on the leader board. But Ferrari are hot at Red Bulls heals. There is still a lot to play for.
